Villa Rosa Hotel Desenzano

Beatiful hotel with a wonderful restraurant and perfect location with a great view of the lake.

very clean room with nice view I took a bus to get here but couldn't find a bus stop for Desenzano station. If you don't carry a big bag, you can walk along the lake. It only takes 25 minutes.

What a beautiful hotel, in a great location in Desenzano. All the staff were really friendly & polite, couldn’t do enough for you. Even though we only had Brian’s lunch, the food was great and plentiful. The swimming pool is a salt water pool, but minimal salty, not like some can be. So it doesn’t sting your eyes, it is a good size for the hotel and not overly busy. The hotel offer use of bikes, normal bikes (free to use) or E-Bikes (€30 for full day) The hotel has access to a small beach for dipping into the lake, with loungers and sun umbrellas, some sensible footwear like jelly shoes or crocs is advisable as the beach is very stony on entering the water. But once in, lush. There a is cycling path that pretty much runs along the lake taking you most of the next towns like Sirmione (4 miles) which is another beautiful town and a must to visit. Desenzano town is a 5min walk from the hotel which is littered with amazing bars and restaurants which on average are priced equally so the choice is yours. We did find a little mini market that did amazing cheese ham salad rolls on the front which saved us loads on lunch meals 😁 and there is a Lidl and Aldi about 10min cycle ride it 20 min walk on top end of town. On a Tuesday they hold a huge market along the front which sells loads of local and other products from clothes, cheeses, breads and meats 👍🏻👍🏻 We visited Montonale vineyard which was about 15mins taxi ride away and would highly recommend €30 per person for approx 2hr tour and wine tasting of local wine with some nibbles 👍🏻👍🏻. There are Other vineyard’s around. The one thing I will point out about the hotel, there is some major building works going on next to the hotel which is unavoidable. The hotel staff do offer ear pods to try and block out the noise or free beach passes, they also did offer us use of another hotel with transportation to a sister hotel. We didn’t use this as the noise became bearable most of the time with poss in. Building work starts at 8 and finishes at 5 every day BUT not on weekends. They do have approximately a 2hr lunch break from 12-2. 😀😀. Overall highly recommend this hotel and Desenzano.
